5 Minute Pesto Alla Genovese

This is the quickest and tastiest Pesto that you have yet to try!!! If you are having a bad day or you just didn’t have enough time to prepare your usual gourmet meal then look no further. So take 5 minutes and prepare this Pesto Alla Genovese then toss with pasta (we use rotini) and tomato’s.

If you don’t have a blender then grind with a mortar and pestle. I picked up a mortar and pestle from our local Asian Supermarket for under $10 dollars.

Ingredients

  • 5 oz. basil leaves
  • 4-6 count Garlic Cloves
  • 2 tbsp Pine Nuts
  • 2 tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Grated Romano Cheese
  • 1-1¼ cups Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions

  • Place the basil, garlic cloves, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, and romano cheese into blender.
  • While the blender is running pour the olive oil in slowly through the feed tube.
  • Blend until a smooth sauce is formed.
  • Finally season with salt to personal taste.
