Week #4 Hump Day Activity : Whipped Cream & Gummy Worms Hide & Seek

Every Wednesday morning I wake Sister Bear, Brother Bear, and Josie-Cat up at around 6:15am in order to do our Weekly Hump Day Activity. I do this because honestly who isn’t dragging and maybe feeling a little exhausted half way through the week. This helps us to break up the monotony of our week with a little pizzaz.

WEDNESDAY

it’s almost, kinda, sorta, close to, just about the weekend…

There is something quite magical about seeing that light in their eyes while we do our Hump Day activities and how it helps to give ’em a little pep in their step. Even when I am feeling overwhelmed during the week I still try and come up with something silly to wake the little Cats’ N Bearz up with at the butt crack of dawn! I feel this gives them some memorable moments and good feelings that they can look back on their childhood with.

This weeks activity only required me to purchase aluminum pie pans. Since, I already had the other items at the house from a previous grocery order. A few weeks ago I had gotten a really great deal on organic gummy worms and organic gummy bears that will last for quite some! I always keep whipped topping or heavy whipping cream in my refrigerator so I did not need to purchase that for this activity either!

Week #4 Hump Day Activity : Whipped Cream & Gummy Worms Hide & Seek

This weeks Hump Day Activity is a fun, extremely silly, & most importantly wildly messy early morning activity to start out your Little Ones Hump Day!!!
Prep Time5 mins
Active Time10 mins
Total Time15 mins
Course: Activities, Child Activities, Hump Day, Kids
Keyword: Activities, Child Activities, Hump Day, Kids
Yield: 3 Activities
Author: Cats’ N Bearz
Cost: $5

Equipment

  • 1 Table Please make sure that the table or surface that you complete this activity on is sturdy because my Little Ones got EXTREMELY rambunctious while they were doing this activity.

Materials

  • 1 Pie Pan If you use aluminum pie pans please make sure the edges are not sharp!!! You will need 1 pie pan per child.
  • 1 Tub Whipped Topping
  • 8 oz Gummy Worms

Instructions

  • First, lay out your pie pan individually.
    1 Pie Pan
  • Now put 4 gummy worms in the bottom of each pie pan. Make sure the worms are all separated from each other.
    8 oz Gummy Worms
  • Next, put 1 to 2 inches of whipped topping directly into each pan. Make sure that you add enough so that the worms are covered and you cannot tell where each is located.
    1 Tub Whipped Topping
  • Then tie back each of your Little Ones hair, if necessary.
  • Finally explain the rules to your kiddos and let them go wild!!! RULES : They have to find and remove ALL of the gummy worms from the bottom of the pans BUT they CANNOT use their hands!!!

Notes

  • If the edges of your pie pans are sharp or scratchy then cover the edges with thick masking tape so as not to cut those tiny precious faces!!!
  • I only put 4 gummy worms in each pan because I hate to waste food and my Little Ones have done this activity at 6am right before school and I wouldn't want them to be all hopped up with a sugar rush during school.
  • You can also add as many worms as you like then time them and see who can get the most within a certain period of time!!!
